Vaultools Privacy Policy
Effective date: May 20, 2026
Vaultools is a KMWorks app for private personal file management. The app combines a toolkit (calculator, currency converter, unit converter, size converter) with a private vault for photos, videos, and files. This policy explains what information the app handles and how it is used.
Information We Collect
Vaultools is designed to keep your content under your control. The app handles the photos, videos, files, folders, and preferences that you choose to create, import, or manage inside it. All of this content is stored locally on your device.
We do not collect personal information for advertising. We do not sell personal information. We do not use analytics, crash reporting, or tracking SDKs in the app.
How We Use Information
Information handled by Vaultools is used to provide app features such as:
- Importing, organizing, viewing, sharing, and deleting photos, videos, and files.
- Managing albums and folders inside the vault.
- Running the calculator and currency, unit, and size converters.
- Remembering converter preferences and the last tool used.
- Validating the vault password you set and the optional decoy password.
- Validating in-app purchases for premium features.
Storage
Vault content is stored in the app's private storage area on your device, isolated from other apps by the operating system sandbox. Vaultools does not synchronize your vault to the cloud and does not upload your photos, videos, or files to any KMWorks server.
Your vault password and the optional decoy password are stored using
the platform's secure storage (iOS Keychain / Android Keystore via
expo-secure-store). Note that the vault files themselves
are protected by the operating system sandbox and the in-app
password screen, not by additional cryptographic encryption at rest.
Permissions
The app may request the following device permissions, only when needed for a feature you use:
- Photo library — to let you import photos and videos from your gallery into the vault.
- Document picker — to let you import files into the vault from your device or another app you choose.
- Sharing — when you choose to share or export an item out of the vault to another app.
Vaultools does not request access to the camera, the microphone, your contacts, or your location.
Sharing of Content
The only way content leaves the vault is when you explicitly export or share it through the operating system's share sheet. Once shared, the content is controlled by the destination app or service and may be subject to its own privacy policy.
Network Use
The currency converter fetches up-to-date exchange rates from a third-party public rates service (open.er-api.com). This request transmits only the standard information needed to fetch public rate data (no personal data, no vault content, no identifiers that we add).
Other tools and the vault itself do not make network requests as part of normal use.
In-App Purchases
Vaultools offers optional premium features through Google Play and the Apple App Store in-app purchase systems. The purchase itself is processed by the store, not by KMWorks. The app stores only a local flag indicating whether premium is active on the device.
Third-Party Services
Vaultools relies on platform services provided by Google Play, the Apple App Store, and the device operating system for app distribution, billing, security, and updates. Those services may process information under their own privacy policies. The currency rates service mentioned above is the only additional third-party service used by the app.
Retention and Deletion
You control the photos, videos, files, folders, and preferences you create or import. You can delete individual items, entire folders, or uninstall the app to remove everything stored by Vaultools from your device. If you contact us for support, we keep support messages only as long as reasonably needed to respond.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the information handled by the app. Because Vaultools stores content locally, the security of your vault also depends on the security of your device — keeping your device unlocked, lost, or jailbroken can expose vault content regardless of the in-app password.
Children's Privacy
Vaultools is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can review and delete it where appropriate.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as Vaultools changes. The latest version will be available at this URL, with the effective date shown above.
